The 15dB and 25dB filters definitely change how I perceive sound, with the 25's having the most effect. As a musician, using the 15dB filters was a compromise I was willing to make to protect my hearing. The 15dB's are more than enough to protect from even the heaviest of cymbal-smashing drummers while standing nearby on a stage. But I still found myself removing them sometimes to hear music the way nature intended. One of my 15's was damaged so this time I tried the 9dB's. They have the least negative effect on my perception of sound and after having played a few shows now, I think they are adequate for hearing protection and I don't feel nearly the urge to take them out that I did with the more attenuated versions. I suppose there may still be some long-term hearing loss possible, but I don't notice ear fatigue or any ringing after a show with the 9's. Your mileage may vary, but my opinion is that these are the right balance for good protection and still being able to hear well enough to enjoy a concert, as well as for playing music with others

I've had my Westone musician earplugs for five years and finally had to replace a filter. They're the best for music performances, whether you're on stage or in the audience. They lower the decibels while maintaining all of the frequencies so you can still enjoy the performance. I wear mine whenever I'm in a loud environment - they have truly saved my ears.

This company went above and beyond to get my order to me at my son's address during the Christmas holidays! I have to use noise cancellation ear plugs when I fly, and these filters fit them perfectly. Now should I lose a filter while traveling, I have plenty of backups!

Bought two. One was much brighter than the other in the same ear. Matched the brighter one with an old filter I had so I have two that are similar in frequency response. Using the darker one as a back up. Assuming darker sounding one is defective.

I bought these as an option to my ER 25 filters. They work great and are very easy to change out. A bit pricy but worth it for a quality and safe listening experience in loud environments like concerts.

I got this as my original one worn out after much use. The 15db filter is fantastic! It reduces the noise level in my helmet to just the right level so that music can be heard clearly without hurting my ears. Also, it is very transparent so the music comes through beautifully. I highly recommend this filter. I did try the 25db filter as well but that cut a lot more sound than I preferred.

I have been using these plugs for over ten years. I get he ER 25's. I was pleased with the fact that if the filter comes out you get replace it without buying a whole new earplug. I would suggest that you either use them in one room or put a little masking tape over the filter to keep it from falling out. That is working for me. If you don't want to do that buy a less expensive earplug for non studio use The selection is very good.

I have westone custom earplugs. I got the 25dB filters when I ordered them. For most applications I find the 25dB to be a bit much. I just ordered the 15dB and they are great! Much flatter attenuation too!

I recently replaced an ten year old set of Westone Musician's Ear Plug with new ones which came with the ER25 filters at my request. I had not taken into account how much better the new, softer material would seal. So I ended up ordering a pair of the ER15's to try. I use these under an SPH-5 flight helmet primarily when flying a twin-turbine helicopter. The ER-25's blocked so much and the new plugs isolated me so much better that I found the ER-15's to be more than enough to use when flying. The softer ear plugs release the filters much more easily. So I have to be careful when pulling the plugs out not to unseat the filters. But I am hoping over time they will seat better in the plugs. Other than that, they are even better than my old Westones by many, many degrees of quietness!

I have the custom made name brand ones with the 15 DB filters. Going to a concert at an age when I know about hearing loss and old and smart enough to care, I got a set of 25 db filters. They definitely do more then the 15s and cost less then the NB filters. I can hear less with them, sure, but not enough to miss the music, and I am protecting my hearing.

First of all, Ear Plug Superstone is great to work with and I highly recommend doing business with them. I'm a guitar player in a Rock 'n' roll band and 've used Wextone custom-made earplugs for several years. I normally use the ER-15 inserts and bought these 9's, hoping to get a little more fidelity with the plugs in. The overall product is very well made and the custom molds fit my ear perfectly. BUT I gave them only 3 stars because, to my ear, the don't really have a flat frequency response as claimed. They seem to cut frequencies in the higher ranges out more than the lower ones. In other words, they don't just take everything down "x" amount, so I can't really set the tone of my guitar with them in. If I did, I'd jack the treble up too much. Once I have my tone set, I can pop the plugs in and save my hearing, but I have to trust that the sound I set is OK.

Shipped quickly and fit my custom plugs perfectly. I do however advise maybe using a light adhesive on the rim of the where the filter fits into the plug. That is how my filter fell out the first time and it's much easier to know it's sealed tight in there. Can't live without these Ear Plugs

Perfect. I had 25 for a long time and always felt a little disconnected regarding dynamics. Witht he 15's I felt it was easier to stay on top of what everyone else was playing in the band. I play electric bass in a rock band.

This is my 3rd replacement filter for my westones... They seem to keep breaking, but hopefully I have learned to take better care of my equipment (this is my second set of Westones... The first were government issue for 5563's... Did not like them much at the time. I did not use them and that is why I probably lost them). The westone ear plugs are great and do the job well.

These are the way to go for ear protection. I'm a professional Keyboardist and Drummer and just ordered the 9 dbs after using 15-25 dbs for years. While the 15 and 25 dbs are clear and miles ahead of any other plug in terms of being able to play musically while wearing protection, the 9 dbs are RIDICULOUS... just got my order in and tried them out on the kit. Its like playing without plugs.

I'm a professional drummer who plays many styles from acoustic jazz to loud amplified rock, and I absolutely depend on my plugs! Not only do they save my ears they actually make it easier for me to perform because in really "live" sounding rooms I can hear my fellow musicians much better. The sound quality coming through the filters is excellent, so it did not take me very long at all to get used to them. I use er-15s for acoustic gigs, and practicing, and er-25s for rock gigs and going to see live music. I'd definitely be suffering without them!
