Tried the "average" size plugs an like many others, discovered that they were too small.

These are best ear plugs I ever bought. First, the two sizes are great to compare. I chose average. I 've had foam plugs for years and never really fit right. They would keep slipping out and worse if your ear canals were sweaty. For the price, you can't get silicone with NR32, unless you spend big bucks for professional customs.

I have fairly large ear canals and neither of the tested items was sufficiently large to provide the advertised NRR.

This sounded like a good idea because they were re-usable, but neither pair fit at all, even when following the directions.

The small was too small and the medium just didn't sit well. Maybe too small... I can't recommend these.

These ear plugs aren't terrible, just not what I was looking for. Since they are all silicone, they create a suction in the ear that's not the most comfortable. I was looking for a reusable version, but I may just go back to the foam because they're much more comfortable.

My adult son has sensitive hearing and has had to undergo several MRI’s of his brain. He said these helped him with noise reduction considerably. The centers usually provide earplugs but they barely worked for him and he can’t use the ear muffs so was happy to find these.

These are much more comfortable but no better at blocking sound than much cheaper foam earplugs. So if you're looking for something that blocks as much sound as an ordinary earplug but is more comfortable, I recommend these. But if you're looking for an earplug that blocks more sound than an ordinary earplug, you'll likely be disappointed.

Both sizes were too small for me and did not block out sound any more than standard foam earplugs like Macks which you can purchase about 150 of them for the same price. Customer service was nice enough to allow me to return them, but I will probably not get around to it.

I've tried many types of earplugs, and these are my favorite. I find them easier to use and more comfortable than the foam ones, while providing the same level of noise attenuation. I was thinking about buying custom earplugs, but these work so well that I don't need to.

Based on other reviews and the significant noise reduction ratings I tried these out. I found them to be nearly impossible to insert into my ears, making them useless. I'm not sure why but they just didn't work for me.

The SilentEar plugs fall out of my ears and are only good for about 1 minute. Then they fall out. And they are wildly overpriced

Super soft and comfy to wear. I actually bought a pair of these earplugs from this site 5 years ago and they still work for me!! :) :) :) I have the yellow and orange pair (which is really ugly lol) but that means they're so easy to find in bed! I tried foam earplugs before and they're crappy. Have just bought another pair to replace them (there are holes in them after wearing them every single night for so many years) and a pair for my boyfriend to try too!

No size of these things fits me. The small is way too small, the large is way too large, the medium slips out even though it seems like the right size. The plugs simply depart from the ear. As long as I am holding them in with my fingers, they make a very good noise-proof seal with excellent silence. But then I lie down on my side and the bottom one falls out; I roll over and the other one falls out. I increase sizes, they squeegee themselves out. I reduce sizes, they drop right out. I think you could make them stick with some putty or wax, maybe? Definitely not made for human ears.

Glad I got the trial pack. I have quite small ear canals, so assumed the smalls would fit me best. Turns out the 'average' size work well for me, and the small didn't work at all. Summary: if they fit, they work very well! But they need to offer more sizing options. Details: More so than other reusable plugs, the size on these matters a LOT for fitment...and they're nowhere near one size, or even two sizes, fits all. Hence, I think, so many negative reviews. This style of earplug essentially "wedges" itself into your ear canal. They are substantially different from foam (which compresses substantially during insertion and expands a lot) or flanged (which offer multiple flange sizes in a single plug and high flange flexibility / compression during insertion). The SilentEar, on the other hand, don't expand at all, and the fixed-size silicone shell offers pretty minimal capacity for temporary compression / flexing during insertion. What does this mean for sizing and fitment? Your ear canal must be a very close fit to the plug size in order for these to fit properly. If the plugs are even slightly too small, you'll never get a good seal because you'll have an air gap. Slightly (or more) too big, and you can't insert them fully (since they won't flex enough) to achieve a proper seal. That said: if they fit, they work very, very well! I've tried a variety of reusable ear plugs over the years, and even went custom for a long time since I couldn't find reusables with the right fit for me. (Unfortunately, I lost my custom plugs and top quality customs are a LOT more expensive than they used to be...hence my new search.) I've learned my ear canals are quite small, so I was surprised the 'average' size fit me (just), as my ear canals simply are NOT average based on my experience (and according to the audiologist who made my custom ear molds). Given the regular size fit my ears, they're bound to be too small for a pretty large percentage of people. Based on my ears and sizing, the manufacturer needs two more size offerings: one in between the current small and average (the average just barely fit, and I think I'd find a middle ground more comfortable), and one bigger than average.

I wanted these to work as the plugs one buys in the stores don't work and these don't either. I thought they fit, and tried both, but I could still hear everything. I'm dissatisfied, and disappointed.

I ordered the 2 pack with small and regular, The small didn't work but the regular were exactly what I needed. The only problem is when I have them in, and someone says something unless I'm looking at them I don't hear. We have a vociferous cat that makes it hard to sleep, or read in bed. I love them thanks

I have one ear that seems oddly shaped and these earplugs (like others) just kept falling out. The earplug worked perfectly on the other ear. Perhaps if there was an extra-small size it would fit, but the small was too big.

These don't work for me at all. They hurt my ears . They don't fit properly ( I am a small woman they should fit me ). Because of they don't fit , they don't cancel noise . The worst ear plugs Ive eve used.

In reading the other reviews of this product, I noticed that most give mediocre scores and that all of those scores are based on the individual items in the package, not on the package itself. But how can you rate a specific ear plug when every person has a uniquely shaped ear canal of a distinctly different size? The short answer is that you can't. One look at the people around you will confirm this and you don't need an ottoscope to prove it. A plug that is much too small for one person will be much too large for another. A plug that one person can wear comfortably all day will cause pain to another after a few minutes. It is pointless to rate ear plugs as if one size/shape fits all. This is the reason for custom plugs and make-your-own plugs and why foam is so popular. And it is the reason why I strongly recommend this pack. Because any other decision will be a matter of trial-and-error. Period. There is absolutely no way that you are going to know if a plug will be effective or comfortable for YOU until you stick it in your ear. I think EPS should make more of these trial packs because it is the most practical way to explore your options and find the style that works best for you. Some reviewers point out that none of the plugs in this package were acceptable and they give the product a low score because of that. They don't seem to realize that they learned a lot about what will or won't work for them. They forget about the money they saved if they had tried all those plugs individually. So if you're confused about all the variety, know that there is good reason for that variety. And even if none of the plugs in this pack work well for you, you've still gained some insight about your individual needs.

While these appear to be well made and their design sound (so to speak), unfortunately they just didn't work with my ears nor the ears of my son. For him, the larger pair didn't seal his right ear canal. For me, the larger pair bottomed out painfully in both ears, and the right one backed itself out, a problem I have even with some foam plugs. (One doctor told me my ear canals narrow down quite a bit.) The smaller pair didn't seal my ears. Back to the drawing board: I'll order the convenient trial packs of both the push-in disposable and the reusable plugs.

I purchased the trial pack because I was not sure which size I would need. The average was a better fit but having the ability to try both sizes was good. I like the design of these ear plugs because they are not extended out of your ear. I wear them while I am sleeping and other brands prevent you from sleeping on your side. They are comfortable and stay in my ears. They do not fully block my husbands snoring but it helps A LOT! My husband plans to get a pair to wear when his band practices to muffle the loud music. Would definitely recommend.

Larger ones worked okay, but it was hard to get them in enough to that the noise was fully blocked out

Got the sample pack of reusable ear plugs. Tried them both but they were too small.

I used these ear plugs when I was in a marching band in college, and they worked great. Now, I always carry them with me, just in case. They block out high frequencies, while still allowing me to hear other things.

I use these and I have gotten this trial pack for both my Dad and my sister. Very easy to use and I highly recommend them for anything-loud concerts, etc.

I purchased the silentear 2 pack for my 11yr old who has a hard time with fire alarms at school. They work well for her, for a quick insert and just for a short time. She likes them. Customer service was over the top, very helpful from beginning to end.

These don't live up to all the hype. They didn't attenuate noises well at all and are very uncomfortable to wear while sleeping. Unless you sleep only on your back don't buy these expecting to be able to sleep with them. The foam type work much better and when trimmed to a slightly shorter length to fit your ear provide much better comfort than these while sleeping.

Neither size fit for me. Still can't get away from the EAR yellow foam disposables. I have tried many different plugs to try and find ones that work and are easy in, easy out. Still keep going back to "old reliable".Ear canals are somewhat different in size and that doesn't help. Don't mind Skull Screws but they work themselves out.

I like these very much, they work well and are easy to clean and use. Although at times they slip out but that is probably because some times my ears sweat at night (yes, we have sweat glands there) and since they are silicone they slip out.

They take a while to get in, by twisting around & pulling my ear up, but once in, are a complete block out. I have the small size, it feels quite full in the ear & makes one ear ache a bit.. but I wanted complete block out & these definitely do the job, so Im ok with that

I have to push the ear plugs way into my ear to keep them in when I am sleeping. This ear plug position is a little uncomfortable because I find myself taking them out early in the morning (and this is the time when I need them most).

I ordered the trial pack with large and small earplugs. The small ones just fell out. The large ones were hard to get in and didn't block sound well. I went back to my old cheap orange foam earplugs -- they work better and I can wash them and reuse them as well. Best ear plugs with the highest noise reduction I've ever used under my motorcycle helmet. Plus, extremely comfortable. I like that I can keep them in my ears and dislodge them slightly to hear and talk with others without fear of losing them. Great product!

I have what I'd consider a normal size ear and both of the sizes included in this pack were too small and wouldn't stay in my ear. They're rather stiff and won't flatten out as you'd expect to give a good fit. Sending back.

Incredibly disappointing. I know I have small ears; the Shure in-ear headphones I have come with 3 different size sleeves and even the smallest of those is uncomfortably large. And yet...with these the small is too small and even the average doesn't seem big enough to create the seal they're supposed to and block out sound. I can literally hear my wife whisper from across the room with these in.

They'd be good for anything other than sleeping. They don't compress so they will hurt your ears if you sleep on them.

These did not work at all. Why they stopped making the "Large" is beyond me as both of these sizes did absolutely nothing. If I shoved the Average in really, really tight, it helped but I shouldn't have to do that. Starting to think I am stuck with foam earplugs which wear out.

Neither size fit. The flanges aren't long enough either. I'll stick with the spongy, malleable ear plugs.

I suppose if the fit were adequate, they will do the job, as it is, the medium size had to be pressed deeply into my ear canal to stop any sound at all. A such, the more firm ring base was irritating and the flanges hurt when sleeping on my side. Too bad, because these should work well if they fit. The manufacturer doesn't make larger sizes? Too bad.

I am sorry to report that neither size of the earplugs that came in the trial pack worked. The noise was only slightly muffled, and I continued to hear the banging of the radiator that woke me up throughout the night.

The ear plugs are made well and would be great if you use them for work or daytime activities. I specifically got them to use while sleeping due to my husband's snoring. The were excellent at blocking out the sound and a good fit, however, by morning my ears hurt. They're a bit too firm and I cannot use them. I ended up ordering the Howard Leight Quiet Reusable Foam Ear Plugs (NRR 26) and they work well. They are also reusable and I remove the stems since I use them while sleeping and they are very comfortable and fit well.

Despite buying the intro pack with two different sizes, the snoring still is problematic. Disappointed.

Unfortunately, neither size in the trial pack was big enough to fit properly in my ears--not even close. I can't imagine that either size would work for most adult males. It would be nice if the trial pack also included a large size. I'd have happily paid a couple of dollars more to be able to try three sizes instead of two.

I was really hoping to find a non-disposable ear plug that worked to block out my husband's snoring. The smalls were too small/loose. The average was very difficult to put in (it doesn't compress). They were uncomfortable and didn't block out noise anyway. I currently use Pretty in Pink, but I only get one use out of them. If I try to use them a second night, they don't block out the sound.

SilentEar plugs are Good plugs, I've been using a single flange silicone plug for cutting down the noise at loud events and in a dental lab. I tried to use them for sleeping, because we have some really loud stomping neighbors on some very thin floors in an old style apartment house built in 1918 (Switzerland) , and they are really uncomfortable after 3 hours sleeping. The SilentEar plugs are better noise blocking, and I don't notice my internal sounds as much, (breathing/heartbeat, and digestion sounds). I highly recommend the trial pack, as the smalls were way to small and the medium (average) were just a little too big in one ear, (wish there was a size just a smidge smaller) but for non custom made (400-500$) these are pretty darn good and you won't find any in this price range for sleeping that are this comfortable.

I live in Melbourne Australia. Tim Ferris recommended these. Very disappointed. The average ones are still too small and I am average size. Do not Want to send these back and risk loosing more money.

I was glad that the trial pack was offered because I wasn't sure what size would fit my ear best. The plugs fit nicely and aren't painful to wear long term. However, I can't sleep with them in. I sleep on the side of my head, and the flanges make it painful. Nevertheless, I will use these plugs for travel and in the workplace.

I was so excited when these arrived! I thought they would be the solution to my husband's snoring, and too many years of disposable earplugs. I am sorry to say that both sizes were uncomfortable (no matter how well they fit, I felt the hardness at the end of the bulb when I laid on my ear), and did not work as well as the highest quality of disposable earplugs. I will be sending them back with regret.

I am a petite lady, so I thought the trial pack would be a good option in case the average was too big. The average is perfect. No idea what I'm going to do with the small pair. They're tiny! Otherwise, these earplugs are great. Don't expect them to silence every noise, but they muffle dogs barking in my house well enough so I can sleep.

I've tried a lot of ear plugs over the years, and SilentEar and the sadly discontinued North Safety Silent Partner are by far the best options I've ever found. SilentEars can be a bit fiddly to get in place, but they are extremely comfortable for extended and/or overnight wear. I must admit I don't notice an appreciable difference in the attenuation provided by these vs. 30 NRR foam plugs, but they make the world quiet enough for me, and the SilentEars are more comfortable. No ear plug is going to make things completely silent, but if I want to I can combine these and Tasco Nextera ear muffs and come pretty darn close. Proper fit is vital so I'd advise ordering the trial pack. I made my latest purchase to replace a pair of plugs misplaced in a move, and I can attest that SilentEars can last for years, making them a surprisingly economical choice.

Great product. I liked the regular size ear plugs. They pretty soft and works great for sleeping on morning for few extra hours with them. Even sleeping on side works well with them, they soft enough.

I like the smaller ones better,the bigger ones do not seem to fit my ear right.

These earplugs did not block sound at all. I got the set with both sizes and neither work. Sticking with my foam plugs. When I called to return them they told me they will not pay for shipping or refund my original shipping. These cost me a lot of money for nothing!

I tested the SilentEar earplugs alongside some cheaper 33 NRR "Hearos" earplugs. To test, I inserted the SilentEar brand into one ear and the Hearos in the other (carefully inserting each according to individual instructions). Then, I struck a metal pan as it was next to each ear to see if I noticed a difference. Afterward, I switched ears with each earplug and also tried both sizes of the SilentEar trial pack. I did not notice a consistent difference in sound reduction between the SilentEar and the Hearos. In fact, the Hearos seemed to reduce the sound to a greater degree in some cases. Additionally, even when properly twisting the SilentEar plugs into place, they put uncomfortable pressure on the eardrum. Although the SilentEar plugs are reusable, I would not recommend them as they are uncomfortable and not worth the price.

Neither size works for me, as noted by other reviewers. They both allow sound in, and I can't get a good fit. I can see that these would be great if the size were not a problem.

These units fell out of my ears during the night. Additionally, they did not block noise as well as disposable ear plugs.

I got the trial pack because I wasn't sure what size would be best for me hoping that I was covered. The mass of positive reviews suggested that these would be quality ear-plugs. I think they would be, however the large ones are too big to fit comfortably, and the small ones are too loose to stay in while riding my motorcycle. Very disappointed with these plugs.. While comfortable, they did a poor job of blocking out collateral noise I encountered on public transportation (bus). I don't need them for concussive noise.

I got the trial pack containing 1 pr each of average & small SilentEar plugs with clear flanges. I followed the directions about pulling my ear to straighten the canal, pushed the plugs in as far as I could but still did not reduce the noise of the t.v. enough to please me. I could follow the dialogue still. For me they did not work. I suppose my ear canal is not shaped for these ear plugs. So they won't work for everyone. I did not get to the state where there is a little suction because the plug is filling up the canal.

Worthless! If you move your head even silghtly, the ear plug moves and the "seal" is broken and noise enters. Not worth the money.

I have only tried for two nights. so far they seem really good. You have to make sure they are inserted correctly for them to work properly. They don't block everything out but they really help to get a good night sleep.

Like Pam Klein, I really wanted to love these ear plugs! Unfortunately, my ear canal is very small, so even the smallest did not fit in. I too wish they had an even smaller one. I am also disappointed with their guarantee: as I live in Canada, it costs more to ship them back, than the cost of the pack.

The Silent Ear Plugs really do work. I am very happy with my order and would recommend the ear plugs to anyone. I have tried many other ear plugs and your ear plugs really do what you said they would do.

The two size trial pack was recommended on the website and this recommendation proved useful. I use both sizes - small when I want them to be hidden, larger when I need extra volume reduction. The plugs themselves fit well, are comfortable, and are fairly inconspicuous. And they work. I'm glad I bought them.

I really wanted to love these ear plugs! They are very well made but they wouldn't fit into my ear canal. I pushed them in as far as they would go and it really hurt. Then a few minutes later they would pop out. This was with the small size. I think they need an even smaller one. I wish I could use them but I cannot. I'm back to using the foam throw-aways. I am impressed. I get a lot of road noise when riding my motorcycle...these plugs have significantly reduced noise.

Have to be careful not to pull out of ear when placing motorcycle helmet on. Medium is just a touch too small for right ear. Blocks wind noise better than the softies I have been using.

The earplugs are very comfy and work well for sandblasting. I can blast and shape carve for hours on end with them with no irritation.

I have a small ear canal, and could not insert the smaller pair of earplugs. Perhaps they would work fine for other customers - they just did not work for me. The Earplug Store was very gracious about accepting them back, as they are quite different from other earplugs and may work better for some folks than others.

Did not block out sounds very well, certainly less well than foam which wasn't terrific either.

I really like them and recommend the two pair trial pack because the one that I thought would work the best for me was not the one that I selected to use. My only complain is the pull tabs on the ear plugs are to short for my ears and they are very difficult to remove. I like this style very much and will be looking for another vendor that has this style and size of ear plugs, but with longer pull tabs.

These plugs are durable and good quality ....but you must get the correct size or they will not fit properly !!!!! I bought the combo pack ...and the small size was best for me !!! I would recommend , for sure !!! I use these for shooting sports , work GREAT !!!

These are very easy to insert and do reduce the noise quite a bit. However, if you lay your head on the side, the part where the orange connects to the clear part is not very flexible and when you lay your head down it starts to get sore there because it seems like a hard part pushing on your ear. So unless you sleep on your back only, these are not good for sleeping as I had hoped.

These ear plugs did less to block sound for me than even my insufficient wax ones. They also would not work well for a side sleeper because of the protruding knob in the middle of the plug. I returned mine and bought a white noise sound device instead.

I wish there was a way to harness their effectiveness and make them a bit softer so they don't hurt to wear. Have tried different sizes and bc I'm a side sleeper I always end up waking with an incredible ache in my ear.

The medium-sized earplugs are fantastic... but only for my left ear. Apparently my right ear canal is slightly bigger so even the medium size (i.e. the biggest available) doesn't seal outside noise as well as it does on my left ear. That being said, the earplugs are very comfortable, even when sleeping sideways. I guess for now I'll pack my disposable foam earplugs to wear on my right ear when travelling. Please let me know when a large size becomes available again!

Work Decent, however you can't sleep on your side when wearing them. They keep out a lot of noise and have helped out with reducing noise when sleeping.

These ear plugs differently work better than the ones sold in the various stores. They stay in your ears much better and silence the noise just as well

These ear plugs certainly work , but they don't work any better than any of the others,IMO. They just cost a lot more. No better performance, no worse....

The average fits well but gets a little irritating when you're trying to sleep side ways. Compared to a regular NRR 32 disposable ear plug, this product's suppression has the equal effect. Have not tried the small, it's quite small. All in all good product and worth the purchase.

I purchased these in hopes to silent my husbands snoring but I could still hear him as if I didnt have ear plugs in:( For the price I thought they would do alot more. The ear plugs I bought for a dollar a pair work far better..

i read about them and now ive tried them they work great cuts down the wind and you can still hear your stero an pipes and also talk to someone when stopped i like them there great thank terry

I just moved to an apartment and wanted something to muffle the person above me. Footsteps, washing machine noises, etc would still wake me in the middle of the night. Perhaps if I combined these with a white noise machine they might work. Plus they're not as comfortable as I expected. I'm a side sleeper and found them to be annoying at times.

Sadly I didn't get the chance to use them...once I opened them they accidentaly got thrown in the trash can next to my desk and taken outside to the big trash cans.. I did try them on when I frist opened them and the medium seemed to be a good fit..but I'll never know LOL!

The medium fits well and greatly reduces the noise from the National Guard jets at the airport. I must believe from reading other reviews that perhaps some people did not read the directions on how to properly insert them in your ears. They fit deep in the ear canal and are very comfortable. My tinitus from the jet noise is already improving.

Loved them. I use these for motorcycle track days. Way better than any foam thing that I have used before.

These earplugs do not muffle sound. I tried the sample pack and neither size worked. I liked the end for ease of pulling out the earplug, but for noise level, it just doesn't fit as well.

Neither was comfortable. I prefer standard foam plugs

These are great ear plugs. Since they are available in 3 sizes, I was able to get a good fit. They are re-usable and easy to clean. Probably the quietest I have ever used. A 60 mph wind noise was reduced to a mild murmur. They also do not protrude so they can be worn with a motorcycle helmet. [EPSS Customer Service: The Silent Ear earplugs are no longer available in size large as that size was discontinued by the manufacturer. The average and small sizes are still being manufactured].

Unfortunately, both sets were too small. They did not seal the ear properly (they sat loose, or I had to push them inside too far). They are useless to me. Unexpected, since I never use the larger set of plugs for earbuds. It is possible that the larger size plugs would have been ok, but they were not included in the trial pack to try. The next thing to useless, foam plugs were100% more effective Feel like I wasted my money on the trial pack.

I would recommend the silent ear trial pack to anybody looking for good plugs. They are really comfortable. My ears must be different sizes because I had to use one small and one average to get the most comfort.

After about five years of these earplugs saving me from inconsiderate roommates, people who fail to understand that nighttime is for sleeping, and overzealous concert crews dialing up the volume, one of the flanges has had enough of my pulling and separated from the body of the earplug. On the bright side I now know what's inside these miracle workers—some sort of clear, squishy substance—on the not-so-bright side, I find myself needing another pair. Still, five years is nothing to sneeze at, so I have gladly repurchased these. And thanks to the great trial pair deal, I didn't need to remember what size worked out for me.

I ordered the trial pack of Silent Ear plugs to determine what size I'd need for competitive shotgun shooting. I don't know why or how this works, but the mediums kind-of fit while just walking around the house, but once I was in a louder shooting type environment they didn't fit or work well (maybe I didn't notice that they didn't fit that well until in a louder environment). I didn't feel like I was able to get the plugs deep enough into my ear for them to be effective and I followed the instructions by using the opposite side hand to pull on the top of the ear from over the head. I think that the plugs would probably work better for me if there was a larger size and maybe a little nub in the center of the three plastic "fingers" to make inserting them deeper easier.

I had ordered the trial pack, with one small and one average sized pair for earplugs. But unfortunately even the small wasn't small enough for me. I got one to sort of fit in my left ear but the pressure of shoving a non-breathable earplug into my ear was not only uncomfortable, but also caused me to feel dizzy with the change in pressure in my inner ear. Not a goo feeling.

work well, very quiet. easy in, easy out, comfortable. normal for me, smalls for wife. smalls comfy to sleep with

I have a ruptured eardrum and always wear a full HOT Helmet. Not anymore, these are wonderful! Recommend them to everyone who hates wind noise!

Both sizes fit, one obviously a little tighter then the other, however I was very impressed with the way it stopped the wind shear. I wear a half helmet and they worked well with that style helmet. Surprisingly, I could still hear when I talked to other riders without having to pull them out. Highly recommend if you are looking for a plug to stop the irritaing wind from wistling in your ears.

I used them for this weekend, I was able to go to Leesburg Bikefest and had a blast. I was not able to tolerate the noise of the bikes in the past, I was able to stand next to the bikes, no problem and could hear everything that people were saying, the bands, it just knocked out the loudness. I love them, thank you!!!! I would recommend them to anyone who has issues with loud noises!!

I could'nt use what I ordered but thier customer service was very helpful with the return.

I have tried both sizes and found to block the most noise I need the larger size. I am a side sleeper at times and find that they do stay in my ears. I can finally get a good nights sleep while my other half snores away.

Tried both sizes, small seem to fit good, but I don't believe they are NRR 32. They don't block enough sound for shooting, not nearly as good as disposable plugs. Too bad I was looking for a reusable plug, but these aren't them.

The smaller size worked best for me but my husband can use the larger ones. They really do dampen the noise. Love them.

The regular size was the better fit for me and made a pretty good seal. The plugs blocked most of the noise that was bothering me- leave blowers, lawn mowers, power washer. My wife used the small pair, so I was able to make use of both pairs. Good Product.

I could not get either size to fit for my ears correctly. I have a home embroidery business and work with very loud machines and was hoping these would help minimize the noise in my work studio. Disappointing.

Service was great - but unfortunately neither size fit snuggly into my ears - so I can't use them.

I purchased the earplugs hoping they would block out snoring and other sounds. They are easy to use but did not seal well. I may need size large which is not available.

I purchase the trial pack with medium and small. I have small twisted ear canals and have problems with seating foam plugs. The smalls were just right. Finally and earplug that will seat and stay in place. I have yet to wear them for more then 1/2 hour. But so far they are great.

These seem like good ear plugs and I really wanted them to work out. The small size does not create a seal and the regulars are too big. Oh well.

I've tried quite a number of earplugs to protect my hearing when shooting (I'm an avid competitive rifle/pistol shooter) and the SilentEar(s) are the most effective I've found yet. They seal well. I would have rated it as five stars if they had a size between "average" and "small". The average is just a bit big for my ears. I've recommended these to several shooting buddies. Unfortunately, most of them said "What? Whadya say?" - too many years without earplugs?

I must have odd ear canals---I have yet to find an ear-plug that I can get in and have it stay in. The small set went in, but when the snoring started, it was like it was right next to me---which it was. I got the mediums in, but the flanges touched my pillow. They'd fallen out by the next morning. But, I will say they worked okay when they were in and I did get some sleep. But, they're still not the answer to my prayers.

I ordered the trial pack with a small pair and a regular pair. Good thing, because one of my canals is larger than the other. With a little mineral oil they both pop in and make a good seal.

I ride a motorcycle everyday to work. I needed a quality pair of earplugs that were easy to insert, durable, and easy to clean. I use these everyday and I am very pleased with the performance. I can still hear the traffic around me and, the sound of my bike. The most important thing for me is how well these little plugs block the wind noise. I seem to be more in-tune with my riding and, I get to work refreshed. They come with a real cool little case that I put on a lanyard that stays in my inside coat pocket. It makes it very convenient to and I always know where my plugs are. I will definitely recommend these to my biking friends.

Small size is too big for my ears. I wish somebody would make some for those of us with small canals!

These are just sooo comfortable in my motorcycle helmet compared to the type with a stem. However, I found that I was pushing them in too far and this was causing loud sounds almost like feedback while riding. Once I learned how to position them I have loved them. I found the standard size is ok, I plan to try the large. The small work for my wife who has really small ear canals. I docked a star because they have a learning curve.

The small ones did not work for me, so I was glad to be able to also try the larger ones. They are so comfortable, easy to put in and the noise reduction is very much welcomed. My wife is from China, and enjoys watching Chinese TV, but the constant Chinese language gives me a headache. Plus she is hard of hearing having worked in a factory most of her life and the volume is up. If you want peace and quiet, you will want these.

i must have tiny ears because even the small size hurt my ears

Nice to have a combination special price to try two sizes. Medium works better for me. I can give the smaller size to my grandchild even though the small size will seal my ears but the medium works better. Comfortable to wear and effective for noise reduction and fits great with earmuffs at the rifle range.

I'm moving to an apartment complex loaded with noisy college students. I need more help during football season than my foam earplugs can handle. I quickly discovered that just a little adjustment in tweaking these babies into place made a huge difference in how much sound was shut out. Once in place, very little gets through. I'm so glad I found these.

I am a very light sleeper married to a chronic snorer. I read the reviews and thought I'd try these plugs...was at my wits end and thought I have nothing to lose! Boy am I happy I did! While I still hear a little noise, and can still feel the rumble vibrations, I can't believe what a difference these make! Finally a decent night's sleep!!!

I need the average size, but only one ear really works. The other just doesn't seal or stay in. So I would give 5 stars for one ear, and 0 for the other. [from EPSS Customer Service: Ear canals are almost as individual as finger prints, different for every person. An individuals's own ear canals may be a different size and/or shape. We suggest trying a different size plug in each ear, as the same size plug may not fit both ears.]

The medium was too large, but I thought the small would work well - fit was great. But once again, being a side sleeper, even the flanges caused pain in my ears. I think I'm stuck with trying to find small foam ones.

The large is a bit large. The small one is a much better fit in my ears. Product does what it is suppose to to. However the sleep ear does a better job for me!!

There is nothing spectacular about these. Maybe my ears are a different size but I can't seem to get a good fit in the right ear. . . . .

Great noise reduction. hard to get in and uncomfortable. this was the small size.

They work just like the foam ones, and feel just like the foam ones. But since they don't compress like the foamies, you'll need to pull your ear like it suggests in the instructions. Really the amount of people that think this is optional astounds me. The only reason I don't use them all the time is because they're TOO isolating.

The plugs do not stay in very well. They are easy to insert though.

I didn't find these ANY better than the spongy ones you can get at the drug store - in fact worse - I didn't get as tight a seal.

These sounded great, but didn't work for me at all...couldn't get a fit. The "small" pair was too big and so didn't block out anything. I gave both pair to my daughter to try out. I'll stick to Flents wax and cotton stopples.

These block noise, but I wanted them for sleeping and the flanges are kind of hard so weren't comfortable for sleeping. I was a size small if that matters to anyone.

The right ear fit great but I couldn't get a seal on my left ear. Would have been great if both had fit but it's really and all-or-nothing thing. I'm now going the custom route with Westone 4RT's.[comment from EPSS management: Some customers have found that their ear canals are not the same size, and they may need a different size plug in each ear to get the best fit.]

These earplugs didn't work for me. I called Miranda at custumer service. She was wonderful and gave me an RMA #. This company has excellent service!!!

good product, nice to have 2 different sizes to try, found that the larger size fits me better. very comfortable to wear on an extended time frame. easy to place/ remove. excellent price point. would recommend with out hesitation.

These are great. I usually wear hearing protecters over the ear, but they tend to interfere with my glasses. The silentear gives great protection in loud areas. A corded version would definitely be a good idea.

The averag sized plugs are to small. They need to be inserted so that they are almost iretrievable to get results. Great noise reduction when i can get them in properly. A corded version in a larger size would be great. [We just bought out the manufacturer's remaining large size, so those are now available for a limited time. --EPSS]

These are superb. I found that the small size works best in my right ear and the medium size works best in my left ear. I also found that very slightly moistening the earplug - so that it's not wet, but just barely moist - helps with insertion, seating and retention. Noise reduction is excellent. So far, I've used these for sleeping. Compared to the shooting earmuffs I have, the NRR is better, so I'll definitely be using these for shooting.

Neither size would fit or stay in my ear, but they worked OK for my wife. I also bought the SureFire EarPro Sonic Defenders and they work great for me (for shooting, probably not great for sleeping). If you have small ear canals and need waking hour ear protection, I highly recommend the SureFires.

I ordered the two pack. Neither size fit my ears well. The smaller ones seem to "fit" the best, but I can't get a firm "seat" for them. They keep popping out.

I was surprised that the small size was more comfortable considering my size. Alas, my wife turned up the volume of her snoring.

These earplugs filter out the noise well but I can't keep them in my ears all night long. Thankfully my husband usually only snores late night...so when the ear plugs fall out he's out of gas and ready to get up for work.

Sometimes it seems to take too much adjustments to fit into my air properly. But when it does it gives pretty good blocking of the unwanted and nusaince sounds.

These earplugs work fine. I'm use to the ones with cords attached - but these worked just fine.

These earplugs are excellent. I needed some super-effective, well-fitted plugs to protect my ears during an MRI. The larger size fit great and did a terrific job keeping out the racket. Plus, they're comfortable, too.

These are nice and comfortable, altho the tabs had to be trimmed for sleep comfort. A little expensive, but if they last as others say they do...probably a good deal.

I now can sleep though my inconsiderate, door slamming tenant leaving for work at 6am! thank -you

Having tried everything to get a decent night sleep with my fiancé snoring like a jet engine, I really hoped these would block out the noise completely but I had no suck luck, I can still here him but it's not as loud as I usually have to put up with so waking up 2-3 times a nite is better than every hour or getting no sleep! The search continues until I get complete silence...Well until baby arrives! Hehe.

I am almost freakishly sensitive to noise and have all sorts of noise-cancelling/isolating products. I bought these for travel, when bringing a white noise machine would be impractical. I got the two-pack and the medium fit perfectly. I tested them the other night, and they really do block sound better than any of the other ear plugs I've tried. They're comfortable and didn't fall out during the night.

They are more comfortable then the store bought blue bullet types, but they don't keep out anymore noise then the store bought ones. I had high hopes that my boyfriends snoring would be silenced, but alas my quest for the perfect earplug continues.

The earplugs block out alot of noise. I bought them for use at night to sleep. The flanges do cause some discomfort, it would be nice if they had the flange in a softer more flexible material. The trial package allowed me to see what size I would need. I would recommend this product to others.

I had bought these to wear while sleeping and found that they blocked noise out very well but I sometimes would have discomfort on the one side if I was laying that way. Also the ear plug on my rifgt ear would sometimes fall during the night. They are good ear plugs but they didn't give me the result I wanted while sleeping

I bought this trial pack because it said that the majority of users would fit using small or average sizes. I guess I'm not the majority. I wished they had a picture of these earplugs alongside a coin etc to get a better idea of how big they are. As a result I have to reorder the large size in order to actually see how good the block out the noise (In hindsight I should have ordered the 3 size pack because now it will cost more money). By just looking at the earplugs they look like a quality product.

I bought a 2 pair trial pack for my granddaughter to use in her very noisey college dorm. By using these earplugs she finally got a decent night's sleep. She told me she could still hear faint noises but nothing she couldn't sleep through. We shall be ordering more of these in her size for sure!!
