I bought these with the intent of using them when I ride my motorcycle since other earplugs always seem to get disturbed by the motion of the helmet if I talk or yawn. These stay in place for the most part, but due to how stiff they are, they have no "give" and move with the helmet. My only complaint is that they are far too firm after they cure, but I've ridden for a couple hours with them in my ears with minimal discomfort. If they were about 15% softer after curing (resulting in a silicone-like firmness), it would be so much better.

When I was making the mold, I probably didn’t push the material into my ear enough, because I didn’t get it far enough into my ear canal. I did not achieve a good seal. As a result the noise block was minimal. I think I will have it done professionally.

Bought these to help with side sleeping. They were rigid and very uncomfortable compared to foam plugs.

After the plugs dry they become firm and not so pliable. And they shrink a millimeter or two making the fit less snug and less effective. They work ok, but not as well as when they are first formed.

Once upon a time I purchased earplugs very much like these at my local Rite-Aid. Sadly, they no longer carry them. So I unfortunately had to fight with the foam earplugs and the silicone earplugs. Neither of those types of earplugs work for me. Imagine my joy when I found these online! ! I so love these earplugs. The forming of them was so simple. And they work so great. I can now sleep in the same room as my dh and his really loud snoring. Thank you so much!!!

This kit was easy to use following directions. I rediced the thickness of the outer part (the stuff not in the ear canal) with a craft knife after the plugs cured because I am not that big. We did not have to do that for the ones I made for my husband.

Very easy method for getting custom-molded ear plugs. I have previously found wax plugs to be the most effective acoustically (far better than any type of foam plugs), and this is partly because (1) you can shape them into a cylinder shape that will then fill up part of the ear canal (I tried two pairs) and (2) the stickiness of the wax helps to provide an acoustic seal. Regretably, the material of the Radians plugs is quite soft before putting them into your ear, and so I found it impossible to get the cylinder shape required to get a good seal within the ear canal. Moreover, once they have hardened, they are (understandably) not at all sticky, so don't provide a particularly good acoustic seal. It would be fantastic if the material they are made from could be modified to address both of these two points. I would then score than 5/5.

The mold process was easy, and only took ten minutes. However, these did not provide at a minimum 15db of protection. I tried test tones used for testing hearing protection and these did not pass. Could be from molding error on my part but I followed directions to a T. They do block a few db of sound but not much.

After buying earplugs most of my life for work and sports, this has been the best buy ever, as time passes our ears grow and old plugs do not fit that well anymore, now cheap and easy to have a brand new pair that custom fits your ear without having to wait. Great product!

These were easy to make up and are exactly what I needed. I needed an earplug that wouldn't irritate my ears but still block noise. These work perfectly. I will be buying another set so I can have one for travel and one set for home. The added bonus is that they are incredibly inexpensive!

I've been using professional custom made earplugs for decades now. I've been very happy with them until recently. The local business I use is no longer up to par. I thought I would try these mainly due to the price tag. Pleasantly surprised. Although it may take me a few tries to get the ideal fit, it's an excellent alternative to professional custom made.

i ordered the make your own set. I had no problems in making a set of ear plugs. They keep the water out when I take showers and block out the loud noise, but let in enough to be able to hear conversation going on around me. i will be buying another as I want to try and make the ear plugs with the ear buds in them like the video shows.

I have a difficult time trying to get mine into my ears. They were very easy to form and I believe I did it correctly but maybe I made a mistake.

These customear plugs work great! The process to create them was simple and straightforward (and inexpensive). I've used them both as a drummer and an audience member and it's worked out perfectly for both.

This is a must consider item for those suffering with hyperacusis. A rear condition which disables 1 in aprox. 50K. The fact that this molds to your own ears, is soft and most importantly quiet when installing makes it a must for me. Granted molded ear plugs or any other ear plug won't solve your problem with hyperacusis, however the fact they are comfortable to wear and discreet allows me to be in places or situations I would normally avoid. I greatly appreciate this product and travel with them when ever I have to leave the home. Thanks for such a wonderful and affordable product that allows me some freedom in my life.

I purchased Radian moldable ear protection several years ago. I loss one of the ear plugs and as a result of my good experience with the plugs, I purchased a replacement kit. The silicon quality appears better with the new plugs vs the old. I use only the plugs for trap shooting and they work well. I use the plugs and muffs for rifle or indoor shooting.

Excellent product, I have made a few pairs of these. I ride motorcycles and I find these the most effective and comfortable option for all day riding. Easy to follow instructions, consistent results. Very good value for money.

Love this product! Bought my first pair in 2010, used mostly for motorcycle riding. If you don't wear plugs while riding, you should. Cuts the wind noise significantly, and still allows you to hear sirens, horns, train bells, etc. The 2010 pair was getting a little scuzzy, so I ordered up some new ones. I thought the product quantity looked a bit smaller, but they filled my ear and made the right size plug. I use my Radians for riding, shooting, concerts (I'm old), et.al. I highly recommend them!!

I developed a allergy to the foam plugs that I was using at work and tried silicone, but they would get too dirty. I finally found these by searching online and decided to try. They work great, and are easy to make! Thanks for a great product.

I'm the Safety Coordinator at a steel plant. I have been looking for custom molded hearing protection for my employees but due to the cost to have it done professionally we were unable to do it. Then I was referred to the Radians product. I bought two sets from Gander Mtn near me. One for me to see if they were practical and the other set for my production supervisor. Both of us swear by them. They are easy to make if you follow the directions and work great. The 26NRR is the same as the reusable hearing protection that we were using. I am hoping to be able to expand the trial and get a set for the rest of the guys on my production floor. If they like them then we will never have to use foam or other cheap reusable hearing protection again in the shop. Great product. Tons of applications. Works as intended. Would definitely recommend to others.

I purchased these for my son. He competes in precision air rifle at a local high school. The results were amazing. The only down fall is that with the ear plugs in, he has a hard time hearing range commands and coach's voice. My son does not like anything in his ears. I thought this would cause a problem when we molded the ear plugs in his ears. This was no big deal. We followed directions and the end results were very satisfying. The "26NRR" rating is correct. I would recommend purchasing this product.

I had high hopes that these would be comfortable for side sleeping. I followed the instructions for molding them, and they're OK if I'm not lying on my side. (Although, even then, they're a little uncomfortable.) Even though these set up to a rather soft material, my ears hurt terribly during the night when they're in. They feel more like rocks in my ears than soft silicone. =/ I trimmed them (the outside), thinking maybe they were too wide, and if they were narrower, maybe my pillow wouldn't push them into my bottom ear so badly. I didn't really notice any change, except that they'll fall out now. But still painful while they're in.

Every thing worked as explained. I am happy. Now let's see how they last. I hope a long time.

Followed the instructions exactly and they turned out perfect. I got them primarily for motorcycling and they are great. Make a big difference to those buzzing ears after a ride. I also use them in addition to earmuffs when chainsawing etc. Very comfortable and quiet, and would recommend them absolutely for these two situations.

The kit was easy to use and the ear plugs came out perfect. I had a set made at a gun show 20 years ago. They still worked, but were beginning to show their age. I recently misplaced them and ordered a new kit. These are great and should last me another 20 years.

I have used several sets of these for riding motorcycles. They work great! Last a long time. I keep having to to replace them because I lose them. I recommend them to everyone I discuss earplugs with.

Just about what I thought. Very good plugs and very ez to fit. I like my regular plugs to sleep in but these are good general plugs. Of course, my regular plugs are NR33 and this one is a bit lower, so that is probably why:-D If you are in the market for this type of plug--I recommend them.

They worked great. No Problems. Just watched a couple of U tubes. I think you could do brain surjury if you watched it on U Tube. Easy to do.

Easy to make- They work pretty well- Don't eliminate all sounds but still good.- They fit pretty well, good enough to sleep with them on!. Had to shave off a little bit in my left ear bud, otherwise a good tight fit.

I made my set of custom earplugs, but apparently I didn't mix the one ear quite enough. It took several days for that one ear mold to set up. Overall, they seem very good and fit well. Can't wait to try them at a motel I will be staying at later this week.

Being a very light sleeper, and highly sensitive to sounds and distractions, I've been wearing the foam earplugs for years. My ears hurt and get inflamed often. I finally decided to try these molded earplugs. WOW, they keep the sound out so I can sleep, yet I hear my alarm clock go off. Just perfect!

Easy to mold and make. Once I had trimmed them to the right thickness, they fit perfectly with my helmet. Good sound blocking and much quicker to insert than form plugs.

I started out with the Radians Deviator NRR33 foam plugs, purchased off Ebay. Those worked great to drown out my noisy roommates in the mornings, but I wanted something reusable. I switched to the SilentEar NRR32 trial pack from this site, but like many other people the large plugs were a bit too large and caused discomfort due to the outward pressure, and the small ones didn't fit well enough to make a good seal. I decided to try these custom molded plugs, hoping to get the same fitment and comfort as the foam plugs, and the reusability of the silicone ones. Although the NRR rating is a bit lower, they work great. I don't hear my roommates clanking and banging around in the kitchen in the mornings, but I can still hear my alarm go off. These may not do the job well enough for those who share a bed with someone who snores though.

Bought two pairs of these on 25 Jul and received the items 1 week later (Within the specified delivery timing). Tried to mold both pairs successful. The result is good and not as messy as i thought it would be. I'm pleased with the ear plugs so far. Highly recommended!

I thought this would be the answer for me: custom molded earplugs to eradicate sound while I sleep. It wasn't. The earplugs were easy enough to make (I purchased and made 2 pair to have a backup) but woke me up with pain each night. They start out okay, but as the night wears on they get uncomfortabley painful and wake me up. Sure wish they'd worked, I have no other solution to the noise problem.

I had a set of these 10+ years ago but lost one. Tired of foam plugs that do not fit and/or pop out so I searched the web for custom moulded plugs. Easy transaction, good price and rapid delivery to Australia. Great protection, easy to make and actually fit your ear. These will live in the car for when I forget or can’t use my MSA electronic ear muffs. Also excellent for long haul plane travel. Great stuff keep up the good work

They were fun/easy to make, worked as advertised. I mainly use them when I ride my motorcycle. I've used Hearos brand soft earplugs before and while these are slightly harder to install/remove, sound attenuation was lowered just the same. For 11 bucks I'll gladly buy another pair in the future vs. $150 from the ear doc.

For the first few months they worked great now after having them for over a year they have shrunken and no longer fit, so no good for long term use. [from EPSS Customer Service: Depending on the conditions under which these plugs are used, they may very well dry out and appear to shrink in size after a few months. But at less than $12 a pair, most of our customers still find them a good value. I've only used one pair so far to make some custom-made ear bud covers for my noise cancelling ear bud earphones. For this they have been fantastic. I think the important thing here is to make sure you push enough into the ear so that there is some going into the ear canal itself. The ones I've made feel fantastic and fit well (very comfortable), but you must follow the instructions exactly. If possible, get someone to clean your ears out first. Because the fit is so exact, once you fit them, make sure you don't move too much, or it will break the seal.

Used the earplugs to make a pair of custom fitted earbud/headphones. They are SWEET!

It took a minute to figure out the best way to get the putty in my ear, but once I got it they work great! They feel great in and really work to lower the volume of the shotgun.

The molding process was easy to follow, as described. I'm wearing these on my motor bike, and they never seemed to really seal well enough. Every time I turned my head, the helmet put pressure on one edge, and broke the seal.

The product is good enough for it's purpose. But hope it provides greater in volume varieties to choose from.

Excellent product. I used it to make custom earphones. My canals are too small for any canal phones, so I pushed in the canal phones without covers when this silicone was still soft. Works well. And no; this silicone doesn't get stuck to your ear.

These ear plug kits are great. The process of molding them is very easy, and the finished plugs work perfectly. I have shot 9mm and 7.62x39 with them at the outdoor range, and 9mm at the indoor range. I wouldn't use foam plugs without earmuffs, but these custom molded plugs do the job all by themselves.

Easy to mold to ear. Works well and are comfortable, though I would suggest if intending to use under motorcycle helmet, use only 3/4 of the supplied two pack mix as it makes for a bulky plug. Either that or I have small ears. Would prefer a plastic lanyard easily tangles when storing.

Great product and perfect fit! Just follow the directions (I actually only needed about 2/3 of the material to make two perfect fitting ear plugs). I ordered a couple more as gits. Those loose fitting generic foam plugs are history!

Created some custom-molded earbuds as described by other reviewers. After six months of nearly continuous use, they still work great! Need to buy some more - $40 for audiophile-grade custom-fit noise-blocking earbuds is a great deal. I play in a band and use the earbuds to isolate my guitar in one ear, and the band in the other. It's noisy on-stage, and these earbuds save (what's left of) my hearing. It's really important to use a bite-stick to position your jaw correctly - any jaw movement during curing can create gaps in the custom seal.

This was a re-order. I have two girls (12 and 16) and I don't let them go on the range without ear protection. I've used Radians for years and made them each a pair of custom ear plugs for their own use. It couldn't be easier and the price is right.

Could use just about 10% more material for adult ears. Work great for child ears. A plug for lanyards that could be molded in would also be much better. Overall, easy to mold and work great.

I wear ear plugs 5 days a week at work and found these online and bought several for my team and myself. I really like the ear plugs.

I am 100% pleased with this product. I followed the instructions, clear down to beginning with clean hands. I held a bite block in my mouth and sat in an immobile position in an easy chair for the initial clock timed 10 minute set-up. At the onset of the 10 minute initial molding phase, I pressed my ear buds (minus the comfort foam coverings) into the mold. The freshly molded ear plugs released easily from my ears. After the 3 hour cure time I completed 'drilling' a hole through the custom plug. Now I can listen to my Mp3 and never 'drop' an ear piece no matter what activity I am doing. 100% satisfied with product.

The instructions are clear and simple. The material worked just like they said it would. The earplugs block my husband's snoring and my daughter's early morning drawer banging. The one piece of advice I have is that you scoop out a small portion of material if necessary so that it doesn't quite fill the center portion of your outer ear. If it sticks out too far it's uncomfortable to sleep on. I shaved mine down a bit after they were cured. Bottom line: I really like these. They are so much easier to insert in the middle of the night and more comfortable than the roll up foam plugs I was using.

I've finally found a comfortable ear plug I can use while shooting sporting clays. I don't have to keep pusing them back in and adjusting them to keep the sound out. They truly are custom molded to my ears and are very effective. They come with step-by-step instructions to explain the custom molding and curing process which only takes 10-15 minutes (plus a couple hours to "set-up"). If you have any questions after reading the simple instructions there is a video on the website which walks you through the entire process. They are available in a variety of colors so my huband and I can tell ours apart at a glance. After using these, if I ever forget to take them to the range, I will feel at a distinct disadvantage if I have to use a lesser substitute that day.

Great product! I used this product to make custom earpieces for my Father in Laws BTE Hearing Aids. No more Squeal! I also made myself a custom pair of ear bud earphones. I can now listen to my MP3 player with lower volume, doesn't come out of ear, and blocks external noise. Will be making a pair for son and grandsons. Ordered 4 more pair. Highly recommended.

I ordered two pairs of ear plugs unfortunately the quantity of silicone that came in one of the containers was not sufficient, so it gave me a thinner ear plug. I just returned from gun gande shooting my new AK 47 and the noise level was to great for that typr of use . I would recommend to purchase for industrial use no fire arms . I brought radian ear plugs, molded type if you follow the directions as follows no problems . I field tested in the industry noise level they work great ! . I just returned from shooting range , shooting my new ak47 and the plugs just wasnt good enough for the noise level but over all good product for industry noise levels . I bought this product to use in making personalized molded ear pieces for use with a pair of miniature ear buds, for use with my IPod when riding my motorcycle or driving my sports car with the top down. The Radian Custom molding material worked fine is making the molded ear pieces, and was very easy to use. The end result was a pair of custom fit ear phones that seal out unwanted noise very effectively. About 7 or 8 years ago; I bought a pair of these type molded ear phones at a motorcycle show and payed about $165 for them. Using Radians ear plug molding kit and an inexpensive pair of ear buds; I was able to create an equally good set of ear phones for less than $30!

I love these and the whole kit that I purchased. I ride a loud motorcycle and they do an awesome job keeping the noise level down.

I bought the whole kit. The self molding ear plug, case and laynard. I am very pleased with the quality and they were very easy to mold. I was worried about the use of molding and how they would turn out, but I am very satisfied. My husband was very surprised at how well they turned out.
