I'm glad to find this style of hearing protection is still made. My old "Allen" style hearing protectors apparantly aren't made anymore. The Sensgard Zem Banded Hearing Protectors are lightweight, they fold up, and they do a great job of noise supression. I dislike foam ear plugs and ear muff type noise supressors. I use mine at the muzzleloading shooting range, splitting wood, and while vacuuming!

I was very impressed with this product. I used them while working at my blast cabinet and they preformed better then expected. The compressor and vacuum noise was remarkably lowered and I could still hear the radio. I will purchase them again for a spare set. I highly recommend these.

Can still hear conversation comfortably but really takes the noise level down to very modest level. No problem with fit or staying in place. Had to adjust a couple of times but fit great once dialed in. Very happy vs. other head band type noise protectors.

Great product, very comfortable to wear. Sound blocking is excellent. I would highly recommend these ear protectors.

Both my husband and I really like these for shooting. My husband uses them for trap shooting and likes that he can get his cheek seated better than with regular ear muffs. I use mine for my pistol league and what I like about them is that a lot of the talking behind me is cut down and is less distracting. I haven't used them outside but I hope that in the summer league they won't be as hot on my head as the ear muffs when it is hot and humid.

WILL NOT STAY FITTED ONCE I START WORK DRIVING A FARM TRACTOR, HAVE TO STOP OFTEN TO RE-ADJUST AND CLOSE OUT SOUND.

Work great, in the field, at the range, in the workshop

Works well at rifle range which is what I Purchased this item for. The only reason I gave it 4*s is that I think the cuffs that go in the ear should be a little smaller for better comfort and sound blockage.

I was evaluating employee exposure to jackhammering in a residentual basement. Suiting up in the staging area the last thing to don was hearing protection. At that point I turned to my partner and said "Great. As soon as we suit up, they stop hammering." My partner said they hadn't stopped. Conversation hadn't been affected, but the hammering sound was gone. Inside at 110 dBA peak, it sounded like teaspoon tapping on a concrete surface. Very effective. The only concern is durability. Also, as designed they would interfere with a hardhat.

I use this for 22 LR shooting, and it works well for this level of noise. Higher caliber shooting I prefer electronic ear muffs.

Works well on target range , Spare cuffs and tips would be appreciated as standard.

But these !! Both a pair for me any my son. These plugs are everything advertised. You can hear casual conversations easily, not bulky like ear muffs. They fold compactly for easy storage. My son and I sighted in his 243 and my 30-06, everyone know how loud a 30-06 is, rest assured, once you use these plug you will NOT want to wear anything else. I would suggest to wear the band over the top of your head, otherwise the band will radiate sound from your collar or neck whenever you move your head.

I really like this product. It works well and it's light weight. I love the way it can fold up and fit in my pocket too.

This ultra lightweight hearing protector is a godsend for anyone whose partner has hearing loss and cranked up volume on the tv. It's much more comfortable for me than any of the headsets I've tried - most of which become annoying over time with the weight. I have recommended this product to family members and friends. Yes, the units can break more easily than heavier protectors but they are inexpensive and I'd rather have the light weight. I keep one at work and one in my bag for those bus commutes with loud riders!

Although they work really well in suppressing loud noises, they are not very comfortable. I have smaller ears and there are not smaller cuffs/tips included or available. After just wearing them for a few minutes my ears hurt from the large and quite hard cuffs/tips.

I like it very much. However I usually wear hearing aids and it is difficult for me to hear someone speaking unless I remove the NRR 31. Then they are so light weight that I forget to put them back in.

I really like the hearing protectors. This is my third pair. The only problem is that they break real easy. I am very careful with them and they still snap and break. Thanks for a great product.

I wasn't sure what to expect for the price, but the Sensgard Zem31 out performed my expectations. I bought two pair for my son and I and was surprised at the ability to have a normal conversation and still receive the protection while at the range. I have recommended the SG 31 to all my friends.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by the fact that these ear proterctors were more effective at cancelling out 12 gauge noise that any over the ear protection I have ever used. I always hesitated in purchasing protectors that fit inside the ear however these are very comfortable and do not actually get inserted.

Here's an update to my original review...I have been to my outdoor club several times now and still love my ZEM! I finally had a chance to shoot in an indoor range last weekend. My ZEM did great inside too! Lot's of large handgun calibers and the protection was still solid! I couldn't be happier!!!

I don't normally rate/review products, but I am so happy with Sensgard ZEM that I felt the need to provide my feedback. I had tried standard hearing protection (muffs and plugs) for recreational shooting and was not satisfied with either due to comfort (muffs irritated my temples (glasses) and were not comfortable with ball hats and ear plugs hurt my ears after long periods and/or would fall out). When I found the Sensgard ZEM on the internet, I liked what I read and decided to give them a try. I purchased the SG-31 from the earplugstore.com (great price and good package combination (ZEM, carrying case, and extra tips)). The earplugstore.com did a great job with fast on time delivery! I have worn the ZEM for long periods on two different occasions and I am happy with the ZEM's level of protection and comfort. The ZEM gave great protection from some large caliber shooting (pistol and rifle) on outdoor ranges and at the same time, I was able to clearly hear range commands and have discussions with those around me. They are so comfortable that I have forgotten that they were on and started to drive home while still wearing them! I have not tried indoor shooting yet, but I am confident that they will do well indoors too. Sensgard is now my first choice in hearing protection and the earplugstore.com is in my browser favorites, so I can easily find the site for future orders!

High pitches are muffled less than ordinary muffs. You can hear conversation much better. Some of my family don't like them because they didn't think they suppress sound as well. I think maybe it was the relatively louder higher pitch or they didn't seat them properly. I like them. Work very well with glasses/safety goggles and ballcaps. Glasses temple pieces often push ordinary muffs up and let extra sound in. Don't have that problem with these.
